I've had my MBP since Saturday. Wireless worked was working as soon as I started it up. Yesterday I decided to plug the computer into the router to make sure my ether net card worked. It could not connect wired, could not get IP. <begin mistake>I messed around with some settings to see if I could get it to work but no dice. <end mistake> I unplugged it then went back to wireless and it is doing the same thing now: it connects to the router but does not obtain an IP address. I have a WRT54G router, I have powered up/down everything and reset the router's security.

Thanks

Did you mess with DHCP? Instead of messing with the Ethernet card you messed with the wireless card?

Did you mess with the router's settings or with the MacBook Pro's settings? :)
I messed with the MacBook Pro's settings.

I have since done a complete reinstall of OSX. Still same problem, connects but not able to get IP. Leads me to believe that this router hates Macs.

I have tried everything...turned everything off and back on in every imaginable order, checked firmware, i have a call into a witch doctor right now but I don't think that is going to pan out...

Any ideas?

BTW, I know the ethernet and AirPort cards are working...wireless at school and works connected straight to cable modem.
