macbook pro won't turn on if wireless mouse receiver in usb port

I just bought a logitech vx wireless mouse and everything works fine except when I turn on the computer. It will not start up unless i unplug the receiver. Is this normal? My macbook pro is a core 2 duo 2.33 if that matters at all. Thanks in advance.
