Central Florida!
I have had many Lappys, and the last year 4 macbooks, in the past all the powerbooks, ibook.....all the toys, this is the first macbook pro I used.....I cant believe the difference of build quality between the two.

I know it much more but the feel is amazing and love the keyboard.......I love my macbook, but know my next one will also be a pro.

Even with the issues I am spoiled.

Thank godness when i went to the Apple , I look at the imac, and backed away slowly as i turned,,,the glimmer of silver caught my eye, and my heart :)

Congratulations on your purchase. I went portable in 2001 and haven't looked back. An external monitor makes up for any difference in screen real estate while at my desk.

I just love the Pro no sharp edges and love the finish.....so smooth and even unlike my macbooks..... it screams Touch Me!

i much more prefer the feel with nothing inbetween us :D
Yeah, but if you don't want any living things in your partner (or transmitted to any of your body parts) you better use it. Also it protects somewhat against fluids, body- or otherwise.
is that a picture of a rubber?

I agree... I prefer the feeling without a rubber.
It's the protouch iskin.
besides, i thought macs didn't get viruses...
One never know if it's handled by anyone.
Weird, I feel oddly Dirty after reading this thread. I'm gonna go read my bible now...

lol
That if anything is weird, but each to their own, there's a lot of fetiches out there. But uhm, masturbating to the bible isn't my cup of tea.

Wouldn't the skin on the keyboard make the MBP even hotter (in temperature)?

Hotter...

You of course mean Hotter as in a Latex Rubber kinda Fetish thing I suppose...

Sorry for going in an even Weirder Direction... I just got my new MBP 2.4/2GB/160HD yesterday and I'm a bit goofy!! Tee Hee!!:p

Maybe, I didn't thought about it first when I decided to get it, it was that or the "felt" stuff, all I know is I don't want to have my keys rub against my screen scratching it.

Apple has it in their store so I guessed it was alright, but yeah, should ruin the cooling a little, or maybe even quite a lot?

"however, it causes the mbpro to get warmer faster--making your palms and arms a bit uncomfortable when resting them on the computer while typing."

"BUT when typing you MUST hit the key/keys a LOT harder than you normally would without the protector. Even as I am writing this, I have had to go back and correct mistakes made by a key being struck but not hard enough to get in"

"However, the material used is of poor quality. It won't sit evenly, as the material gets easily warped. It's definitely a product to replace every 18 months or so, if typing comfort and appearance and the transfer of oil and dirt to your screen are important to you (you can wash the material, but only so many times before it becomes too warped to fit on the keyboard). "

Are the negative comments.

Are the marware neoprene protection better?

What do you people use? The piece that shipped with the machine? Something else? The marware stuff for the handrestarea looked nice to, I wonder if they add enough extra thickness to make the screen not touch the keys.

But I don't want all my food within the laptop ;D

Eat and THEN compute?! Hell no! :D

Thought it would probably bring down my eating times from 3-4 hours to 15 minutes ;D

well given that im picking up a new MBP 17" in two weeks, you suddenly made me think about potential damage to the screen from the keyboard.. anywho, has anyone used one of these: http://www.sonnettech.com/product/2fit.html ??

Something like this works great. I use it only to clean the screen and keyboard though. I travel a lot and I haven't seen any sign of the screen touching the keyboard. The screen is recessed a bit so I don't see how this would happen.

Myself, I don't like plastic over the keyboard. It reminds me too much of my mom's plastic covered couches in the seventies ;) All one needs to keep the keys clean is a can of compressed air or a moist towel with mild cleaning solution for the big messes.

Back on topic: congrats on the purchase. I am sure you will enjoy the love affair as all of us Mac owners seem to be experiencing. My MBP is my first Mac and there is some truth to one never forgetting the first ;) (I think that's as "insinuative" as I'm going to get :D ).
