Edit - Bah... I thought it would boot from CD automatically. Didn't realize I had to hold down C.

Do kernel panics happen fairly often? Kinda paranoid now. :/

Original post can be ignored I guess.

So I just ordered a refurb 1.83 Macbook off the apple store a few days ago, and it just arrived today. After turning it on and setting it up, it starts downloading updates. After waiting a few hours, it finishes downloading and begins to install them. Then up comes a message saying:

"You need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button for several seconds or press the Restart button."

Okay, I think, must be done I guess...

But now whenever I try to start it up I get this:

I'm guessing this is some sort of kernel panic? Or something along those lines? Putting in the OSX install disc does nothing. Am I screwed? Pretty disheartening after I was so excited to play with it.
