So I went to the local Apple store in the Twin Cities to buy that nice shiny 2.4 15 inch MBP only to find that they're out of stock! The guy there called the other 4 retail stores in the area and found that they are all out of stock too! Then I checked the apple online store to find that the shipping time has gone up to a max of 7 days!

Ive been waiting so long! What will get me my computer faster, ordering it online or calling every morning to the Apple store to see if theyve gotten a shipment? The guy there said that they have no advance warning of incoming shipments becuase Apple keeps everything in the dark.

Does the lack of computers anywhere mean anything besides the fact that people really want them? You would think Apple would have computers in stock in any of four retail stores!! :(

They do seem popular, with the new screens and the graphics card update along with the usual spec bump they seem to have pleased most people.

As for ordering, ringing them Vs online thats your choice, if you order online at least you know you will get it in a finite amount of time.

I know three people, not including my self who baught the new MBP. So ya, it seems like people are buying and demands are up.

phew, Looks like I lucked out. I ordered mine this morning and it said 3-5 days, and nothing has changed in my order status. Crossing my fingers

I ordered a stock 2.4 last Thursday morning with standard shipping; today, the shipping finally changed from "not yet shipped" to "prepared for shipment."

I wish it were coming sooner!

Got mine from the apple store online and got it in 6 days. You might try buying online.

I got mine the first day it came out just to find the yellow issue, and had to wait for almost 2 weeks to find a replacement, and that was because there was a new store just opened. The new replacement is perfect, no yellow at all.
