Why?
They just take a returned MBP, then get it back up to sellable first-quality quality and sell it. It may come in a normal brown box, but.. it's still a good computer at a discount.

Refurbs are actually more likely to work out of the box because they inspect every one. The only of five apple products i bought that worked out of the box was a refurb ipod.
