i have recently bought a macbook, 2ghz, 512mb Ram. i successfully installed final cut pro to do sum basic editing work for university.....

but wen i try to open the application i get an error message saying that i do not have the minimum 512mb RAM i need. i have checkd the 'about this mac' info and i do have the 512. a friend of mine has a mac mini with 512mb RAM and final cut pro works fine on his.

can any final cut users shed some light on this or anyone know wot this could be??

cheers

Maybe your friend's Mac Mini is the older PowerPC version with a real GPU?

The Intel Macs uses intel graphics which steals some ram from your system. 512 is already very little, any less and it is a disaster waiting to happen
