Macbook RAM question.

I'm going to buy a Macbook when I'm in the US in a few weeks time. I want to buy 2Gb of ram to take with me and install right away. My question is this. If, although unlikely, Apple change the processor to a core 2 duo between now and me buying my Macbook will the 2gb of RAM still work O.K. Sorry if this is a stupid question, I just need to be sure before I buy the RAM.

Hi Buy the macbook with the standard 512mb ram. Buy aftermarket ram through either ramjet.com(2Gig for MacBook $259) or datamem.com2GB (Lifetime Warranty) $210.00). It will save you a lot of money and its the same as you would get through apple.com (if you upgrade at the time of purchase its $500, or $600 after purchase.) The guys at the apple store actually told me to get it through datamem. They said that it would not alter your warranty in either case.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't think you understood my question. I live in the U.K and will buy the RAM before I go to the US to install myself once I buy my Macbook. The question is if I buy the RAM now will it still work if Apple change the processor to a core 2 duo?

Yes, the logic board will be same so the RAM will be.
