Hi everyone!
Bought my first mac ever after trying it out on my pc. OS X grabbed me in its claws instantly, and i bought a macbook w.dvd-burner to have an "all in one" box for editing, travelling and desktop use.
Since day one i have had problems. First it was the mouse button that where disfunctional, and the battery broke within a month. Second problem is that god forsaken über-crappy mat****a uj-857 that stopped reading any disk after about one and a half month. Then the keyboard stopped responding in minute-long periods.
Still, i recommended apple computers to everyone i knew, and have atleast had eight people converting.
As the dvd stopped working, i sent it in for repair. After three weeks i finally got it back, and + to apple, they have fixed the keyboard issue, the mouse issue, and a new inner shell, both the trackpad and the frame around the screen. BUT THAT GOD FORSAKEN DVD STILL DOES NOT WORK! They have put in a new drive, thats for sure as the problem is different now. The one i sent away would just spin up disks three times then spitting them out. Now the disk spins up, but does very very rarely show up in finder. When it does not show up, i have to hold eject while rebooting to get the damn disc out.
Is this a "never-to-be-solved"-problem? Just throw my damn macbook down some stairs and buy a (quality?) fujitsu-siemens laptop instead?
I'm working as an IT-Techie and do on-site support as well as warranty repairs and sales, and i have never experienced anything like this before :-( (EDIT: Sony VAIO is as crappy as this)
Sorry for the very long post, but im so angry right now :-( and bottom line:
If i send it back, will i get another(third!) damned matshita uj-857 that does not work?
Experiences?
