Hi!
I had to remove a battery of my Macbook Pro 15" late 2015 because it was stewed and now my macbook restarts when I use a external Hard Drive or when I am watching a video at youtube.
What might be its problem?

Does Anybody Know?

Thank you!

I am having same or similar issue (same MacBook pro 15" 2015). I had to replace battery after old was swelling.
Running on new battery (no cycles) if I put too much load on it (multiple videos, apps running etc.) when trying to drain (for conditioning cycles) it crashes. Not sure if this is just due to being new.

Thanks for any input.

From where did you both source your new batteries? Often the cheapest ones are factory rejects, and may not be providing sufficient current.

Yeah that's what I'm unfortunately thinking. I already had them send me another battery but same issue.
It was random amazon item (ZTHY 99.5Wh A1618 Laptop Battery Replacement for MacBook Pro 15 inch...)
coconutBattery app says the manufacture is Simplo.

That is the tricky part about battery replacement. It’s rare, though still possible, to find a good battery outside of apple service.

Thanks! for the input. This is my first battery replacement and was not aware. I’ll submit for refund with Amazon. Any idea on where to or how to get a ‘good’ battery?

Maybe iFixit, but I don’t actually know of a consistently reliable source. I usually have it done by apple, it’s a bit more expensive, but you get a new keyboard and top case as well.

This is what happened to me on an old MacBook Pro that I had. For half a year, it would randomly restart. It didn't happen too often and didn't happen consistently enough that I could point to any pattern. After a year of it restarting on its own a few times a month, the trackpad started getting hard to press... uh-oh we know what that means.

The battery was failing and beginning to swell. It wasn't even a cheap one. It was a NuPower battery from OWC.

I've purchased batteries from reputed retailers and battery outlet eBayers and have had no better luck than random flips of the coin as to if the replacement battery lasts longer than a year.

Wow ok thanks again to all for input. Good to know the sad state of affairs regarding replacement batteries. I guess I’ll flip another coin.
