Since there seems to be a trend towards "glossy" screens in notebooks, what do you think will be on the next iBook/MacBook? Of course, the non-insane thing to do would be to go with the regular non-glossy coating, but is there any risk that the opposite will happen?

Those glossy screens look cool, but aren't very functional in my opinion, especially for laptops. Laptops you need to work in different enviroments and sometimes outside.... glossy means reflective, I expect to get what I pay for; a screen, not a mirror.

Put me down as one who definitely does not like the glossy screens. They have a "wow factor" that makes people think they're really nice when they first see them, but after a while, you realize they're not very easy on the eyes, and they have bad glare problems.

oh but you do get a mirror with the new mbps...isight!!

I do like the bling of a glossy screen, but matte is more functional...

Imho

In my estimate, the MB will have enough bling-factor as it is, hence no need for a glossy screen. Besides, doesn't a glossy screen look more "cheap" than a matte one? I think so.

I really dislike the glossy screens. They reflect way too much, can't be viewed from as many angles and the worst thing is the fingerprints! I hate fingerprints.

Hopefully non-glossy but with better contrast and brighter than the current iBook/12" PowerBook displays. My PowerBook display looks really dim after spending time on my iMac.
