Ok, well today I opened my MacBook from sleep and it wasn't turning on. I waited like 5 minutes and nothing happened, so I turned it off and tried turning it back on. Instead of the usual sound (not the one from the speakers) of the hard drive or something turning on, I hear it attempting to turn on, like it was disfunctioning or something. I turned it on and off multiple times until it finally worked. Now that the machine is on, it's moving at it's usual quick speed, and you would never notice it had any problems. Should I be worried or just let it go?

It seems the root of this problem is the battery. Today the computer simply did not turn on at all until I plugged it in and let it sit there for awhile. Even then when I turned the computer on it had 6% battery.

Problem is I was not doing anything at all on the battery, I wasn't even using the MacBook, it was simply closed in sleep the whole time. I've had it sleep for much longer then it did yesterday and today, and no problems at all. Is my battery flawed, and can I fix it, or do I need a new one. I've heard you can do something called calibrating the battery, but I don't know what this is or how do to it. Any help is appericiated.

Here is how to calibrate your battery. This sounds like it might be a battery problem, so you might want to try the calibration and additionally, you might want to install the coconut batter widget to see what capacity your battery is at. This might show you if there is a flaw in the battery. I am not sure, but this might also have something to do with the SMC and the macbook not properly going into sleep. Try the calibration first and then if that doesn't work, try Resetting the SMC. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Mike
