I just got a new macbook. and one day when i tried to turn it on, nothing came on the screen and the sleep light was on solid green. I can not get it out of sleep. i tried to reset the power system and that didnt help. I can not put the OSx cd in because theres a cd already in there and i can not get it to eject.

any ideas would be very appreciated!!

by "tried to reset the power system" what do you mean?

if all else fails, i would unplug it and remove the battery, wait 20 seconds or so and then put the battery back in and try again. that *should* do the trick, but if it doesn't then you definitely need to call applecare or go to your local store.

I tried alot more than that.. I read somewhere that if you unplug it.. take out the battery... and hold the power button on for 5 seconds that it erases all the power settings and restores them to factory defaults.. i tried it and it did nothing..

Is your sleep light blinking? Or just staying on?
Have you installed anything (hardware) since buying it?

Um, our MB has a white sleep light. You said green. The only green lights are the iSight indicator and the fully-charged indicator on the power cord. Is yours different?

Have you tried starting up with the mouse button held down? That should eject any optical disc before booting. Otherwise, take it to an Apple Store if you can. When our motherboard died, all that happened when trying to boot was the white light came on, no other sounds. Yours could be dead.
