I got my son a macbook for christmas. He is not happy with speakers on the macbook for listening to music. What's a good speaker arrangement for the MB for listening to music?

I can recommend out of experience that the jbl creature 2.1 speaker system is excellent, but do mean external speakers? These jbl speakers are a good price too.

by listening to music do you mean just you rockin it solo or the ability to kick it up a notch and play it for a house party?

I have a 2.1 setup which are the Creative I-Trigue 3300, but it seems like a little much for a laptop. You prolly want something like 2.0. You could go to newegg.com and do an advanced search for all 2.0 speakers and let him choose which one he wants.

If my parents ever got me something like a macbook for christmas--which they wouldnt have because they're not for sale at value city--and i THEN complained about the speakers, I would have gotten a slap in the face, well proverbially at least.

Anyhow, if you want cheap, powerful music listening go with cambridge soundworks..... http://www.hifi.com They have ones called pcworks or soundworks, get the cheapest ones, they'll do the job.

You have to admit that the speakers on th MB are pretty lame. Thanks for the suggestions.
