After having my white MacBook for only 2 weeks, I started to notice the staining of the palm-rest everyone is talking about. Though it was slight and less severe than some of the pictures I have seen posted, I couldn't remove it, regardless of trying multiple cleaning agents. I waited for another week just to see if it would get worse, and it did. Also, the grey palm-rest/cover started to buckle away from the white base just above the USB ports. Prior to this purchase, I had an iBook for 5 years with no staining, so this was clearly unacceptable.

I took it back to the Manhattan Beach, CA store I bought it from and they were very helpful. I thought I was going to have to argue or fight to get it fixed, but this was not the case. The guy at the genius bar took one look at the yellow stains and buckling and said that I'm not the first person to present the problem. They popped out the hard drive and RAM, put it in a new MacBook, and sent me on my merry way. Very pleasurable experience.

I just ordered the palmrest and keyboard protector from www.marware.com. I'll update later on how it works out.

Thanks to everyone who posted on this already for the advice. I probably would have just sat at home staring angrily at my stained computer if I didn't know others were taking action. :)

I just ordered the whole kit for my Black MacBook just because I've been looking for something for the palm rests, thanks a ton for the link :D.

Kit got here today, the keyboard protector isn't really what I was hoping for, so I use it to clean the screen and get the oily prints off the keyboard (works great).

The palm rest things are amazing, once you get them placed right they work like a charm and make setting your wrists on the computer more comfortable.

There is a rest thing like the screensavrz that lies on the casing with a hole cut out for the trackpad that covers the casing when you are resting your wrists on it. I recommend it as it works very well.
