I usually let my macbook to go to sleep if I dont use it..
However, just now my macbook started to lag.. the mouse move very slow and unresponsive..
So I tried to restart the macbook, and now it works back normal.

I thought macbook's performance will not be affected by not restarting it??

btw, today is my first day to hook up the screen on a 22" external lcd. After sleeping for 5-6 hours, i woke the macbook up, and it was lagging...

Open up Activity Monitor (in Applications/Utilities) and check your RAM usage. With the extra screen and a long uptime, you might not have much free RAM left.

I have the istat pro running in the widgets.. I check.. I still got at least 500mb free ram...

I notice mine gets slower after about a week of being on (and sleeping)...I just turn it off for a night and start the cycle again. Not a big deal.

It happens again today after 1 night of sleep.
There is no problem when i wake it up and using the wireless mouse.. but once I connected the wireless keyboard, then it started to lag again..

are you sure its not the bluetooth keyboard thats lagging and not the computer?

I mean today after I connected the wireless keyboard, and the computer started to lag.. I tried to disconnect the keyboard, but it still lag..

Did the keyboard actually disconnect? What brand keyboard is it?
Yea.. I closed the keyboard while the macbook sleep..
And after I wake the macbook up, I just connected the wireless mouse first.. there is no lag.. and when I try to connect with the keyboard, it started to lag..

The keyboard and mouse are the bluetooth wireless released by Apple.

I'm not one of those who conform to the idea that shutting down your Mac can cause problems by starting it up too many times. I've owned Macs since the 90's and have always shut them down at the end of the day and my Macs have run perfectly for years. Shutting down your Mac (as I'm sure you know) clears the ram, putting it to sleep doesn't give it the chance to do so therefore your ram just gets taken up having more ram just means it may take longer depending on what you've been doing.

Okay, so it only lags when the keyboard is connected, or the keyboard has just been connected and is trying to disconnect, right?

It started to lag when I connect the keyboard, and I tried to disconnect the keyboard, but the lag persists..
However, it only happens sometimes..
