I try to limit my posts as much as possible. I'm sure there are searches out there that would render my solution, but I'm hoping that you all have sympathy with my situation.

Last week, my wife came home to a house robbed, TV gone, Macbook gone, Wii gone. Not so bad, but nonetheless a pain in the ass. I have homeowners insurance, so that's not my issue.

It comes down to contacts, apps, music, photos, etc. I do not have Mobileme currently and that Macbook was my ONLY Mac in the house. As I now begrudgingly type from my 2001 Dell desktop. I have ordered our new MBP 13"

Music: I have heard of Senuti and may purchase based on what I have read, learned, etc. I would like to have my music from my phone put back on my new Mac. Uploading CD's is such a pain in the ass.

What about the others? If I plug in, will it just sync? I don't want to do the wrong thing and wipe my phone of its contents. I'm just trying to salvage what I can. Any help??

Hey dude, sorry to hear what happened, happened to me in january, it sucks so I can feel your pain.
if you stick your iPhone in a new macbook and try to sync it i think you will lose music/pictures/videos/apps (but getting apps back will just be easy such as logging into your apple account).

I've used copytrans before which copys music from your ipod/iphone to your pc/mac.

I haven't had any experience with sentui before - but I'm pretty sure your numbers should stay in your phone.

Also sorry to hear of your experience here.

Whilst I cant assist much in the "what to do now" sense, I might add that getting a time capsule would be a great investment, I have one at home wirelessly syncing every hour. I can rest assured knowing that if my iMac went walkies I could get a new one and just restore the whole machine from the time capsule. I think they are an invaluable insurance policy.

For now you could open a MobileMe account and get syncing your calendars and contacts? At least you get a trial period for free.

I hope you manage to sort your problem ok.
