MacBook Takes Too Long to Wake Up

I have a 13 inch MacBook Pro mid 2012 running El Capitan 10.11.2 with the core i5 and 4GB of RAM. It replaced an older MacBook. The problem I have had from pretty much when I got it was the extremely long times it took to wake up after I opened it back up. Has this problem been noted before? Any threads I could go searching through?
