Macbook to TV and vice versa

Ok so here's my question, i am getting an eyetv hybrid to record my tv shows on my laptop. It says you are able to pause live tv via the eyetv. What if i got a DVI to S-video cable and hooked that up while the eyetv is hooked up. In essence playing what i am recording on the TV will i then be able to pause the live tv actually on my TV??? Seems do-able to me, but give me your opinions.

What you are actually pausing is the recording.The show goes on.So to speak.

Yes i understand that, but even if i am pausing the recording. I will be able to do that on the TV with the DVI cable correct?? And while i pause it, it will still record the entire show yes?
