Hi!

I am getting a Macbook next week! I have never had one! I have been working on and with PC's since the 386 compaq was selling for $10,000!!!

Anyway, I recently bought a new hd 42" LCD TV and would like to hook the Macbook up to it!

How and what would I need to do that?

Thank you in advance! :)

well check to see what your tv has maybe DVI or VGA input?

then buy a mini dvi to dvi/vga adaptor and a cable

and ur all set

the first one there will be significantly worse quality than the other 2

you want a dvi or vga hookup

if the tv only has HDMI and no DVI or VGA, buy a HDMI->DVI converter (example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812189056) and then buy the mini-dvi -> dvi converter for the macbook

I bought the Hdmi to dvi converter, but the dvi converter is a male end and the dvi to mini dvi is a male end on the dvi part. I tried talking to Apple about this 2x and they were having some technical difficulties. Can someone help me? I now have a HDMI to DVI converter and a DVI to Mini DVI adapter, but they don't hook up. Thank you,

Shelley

Mini-DVI to HDMI converter with an HDMI cable will do the trick!

Let us know how it looks!

I watch movies from my MBP to my HDTV.
Purchased a DVI to HDMI cable and a audio out to red/white.
Hook the HDMI to the TV and the audio to my receiver...works perfect!

a regular dvi will not fit on my mb I have a dvi to hdmi cable - doesn't work.

No Luck

apple.com has all those different type of adapters and connectors, do check.

Um, I did check many many times. I am not stupid enough to sit here on a Mac Forum and wait days for answers! I have searched over the Apple site for hours and hours on end. If you read any of my other forums earlier, you would have seen this, that is part of the frustration. I called them as well. Nothing. I am having NO luck with this.

They just don't have a mini - dvi - dvi - hdmi that works
