Macbook trackpad button disfunction

Hello MR community:

I just purchased a Macbook used on eBay and when it arrived today I noticed that the button below the trackpad doesn't "click" like it is supposed to. I have to push much harder compared to my friend's Macbook. I emailed the seller and he said he didn't realize this problem (he has 100% feedback so I'm only a little skeptical). The Macbook is still under warranty so my question is, will this be covered by the Limited Apple Warranty? Also, there are two screw holes which are stripped on the ram slot cover. Is this also covered by the warranty?

I'm just wondering if you ever got this resolved through Applecare. The left side of my trackpad functions normally, but the right one doesn't make a distinctive click and takes more force for the click to register. Is this something that can be fixed in store? I've been meaning to take it in to the Apple Store - and might today - but I just haven't made it over there.

Well I took it into the Apple Store this afternoon and they said they would fix it, but would have to keep it for 3-5 days. Two hours later they call and say it's done so I get it and it is fixed. It's nice to have that working properly, but I'm disappointed they wouldn't do anything for my stuck/dead pixel.

One? faulty pixel? That's below standard tolerances so I'm not surprised.

I wasn't expecting them to fix it - it just would have been super if they did. I've gotten used to it, but I would love to have it gone.

Ah. Is it stuck or dead? I believe it's stuck pixels that people have had success rejuvinating back to proper function through various techniques.

I believe it is a stuck pixel, but I'm not 100% sure. It appears to be a red dot, and not black like a dead pixel would be. I have tried running JScreenFix, and gentle massaging with a damp cloth - both without luck. Either I'm not doing something correctly, which is certainly possible, or the pixel is stuck for good.
