Well I finnaly decided to try out the origami trick to make my track pad more responsive and less "squishy." It works wonders! However, what I've noticed is that my trackpad sticks a lot out more. Will this cause damage to the LCD when closed?

unless there is a significant pressure on the screen, from the raised trackpad, it shouldn't. However, it will make it more susceptible to finger oils getting on the screen. A screen protector cloth should take care of that.
