Macbook unibody to dell 23" = bad quality, same with Mac mini?

Hi Bosep,
the LCD monitors have only ONE resolution in which they should be used: the so called 'recommended' resolution. Any other 'res' will look really crappy (compared to the old CRT displays - do you remember those?).
That is the main problem with the "new, improved" technology...
I could explain you why but it would be too long (& boring).
Anyway, you have to set your monitor to the "recommended" 'res'.

Oh yes,I got the "right" resolution, but the image quality is worse than on my pc. I can take a pic and compare.Besides the obvious color difference, the macbook has "stripes" on many colored backgrounds. The pc does not, and the overall quality of the "screen" is bad when the macbook is connected.
Same screen, same resolution 1920 x 1080. (both connected to the same dvi)
(This "stripe" problem is not a problem on the 13" macbook screen, only on the external display)

You can't take a screenshot of it... that doesnt show what the screen is showing, just what the GPU pushes to the screen Well well, thanks for the help guys but I don't think I will get any help here

I was just noticing that your display seems to be a crappy one...
Firstly CLICK on my attachments & then you'll have the pict shot 1:1.
Then you look at your shots...
If you don't see the diff, then you must be blind...
So my advice is - buy a better monitor in first place...

Well well, thanks for the help guys but I don't think I will get any help here
Instead of immediately thinking it's a problem with the Mac, why not do some troubleshooting first. First, are you running an Apple-branded dongle? I've seen some of the knock-off dongles do stuff like this (especially the Dynex ones at BestBuy). If so, get an Apple one and see if it helps. If it doesn't, return it. If it does, voila, problem resolved. If you ARE using an Apple one, buy another Apple one and see if you have the same issue. Again, if so, then return it. If not, then you found your problem. If you try all this an it doesn't resolve the issue, then you can start looking into other issues that might cause it.
Well, it still seems as if you took a screenshot, instead of making a real (with an actual camera) photo of your screen.
Well I own a Dell 2405fpw since it came out. I also notice this issue on my monitor as I can switch between interfaces with a flick of a button to my MacBook Pro from my PC. It's a little more fuzzy than the PC. Same resolution too. Haven't figured this one out yet.
