I was browisng around the forums and I noticed some people saying that on a Macbook under Windows the video card has 224mb RAM available to it, but under OS X it only has 64mb.

Anyone ever heard of any hacks to allow OS X users to have access to the full 224mb?

The macbook shares vram with the system ram.

Intel GMA 950 graphics processor with 64MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory3

3 Memory available to Mac OS X may vary depending on graphics needs. Minimum graphics memory usage is 80MB, resulting in 432MB of system memory available on 1.83GHz models and 944MB of system memory available on 2.0GHz models.

We're well aware of this. The OP is asking if it's possible to change the amount of vram that's allocated to the GMA950. In OSX it gets 64mb, while Windows gives it 224mb.

It grabs more if needed and it is available AFAIK, but if its needs more and other apps are using the RAM than the vram will have to work with what it has.

As stated in the quote from the apple web site it use's what it needs, i dont see any reason why you would want to force a set amount
