Macbook viewing angle

I was wondering how narrow is the macbook viewing angle.

last week my father had a Dell notebook 15'' lcd and it was impossible to get a good view on it. if i moved too high with my head, the botton was dark, and the upper side was too bright, and vice versa.

how does the Macbook handles that issue?

My MacBook is absolutely fine, due to the nature of the screens I don't think you can get a perfect viewing angle, but a 13.3" widescreen has got to be as perfect as they come.

I have a MBP my self a mate of mine just got a MB and the viewing angle on them both is perfect.

I think the macbooks displays are excellent with very good viewing angle. Nothing to worry about. The Macbook pro, on the other hand, is terrible in terms of viewing angle - if you're sitting at normal distance with teh MBP and move your head a few inches to the side, the colors are distorted. Not so on the macbook.

My MBP has no issue with this i can be in bed watching a movie and its fine, Personaly i dont understand why people are having a problem, only time the colours distort is if your to low down. Left right and up is good

Then you're very lucky. And I'm unlucky. I found the viewing angles bad on all three MBPs I had. It's not that you can't see things from the side, just that colors/brightness get distorted almost immediately. Straight on, I found the MBPs to be excellent in terms of brightness (but with uneven illumination and grain), but definitely not great from an angle.

Viewing angle is perfect on MBP and MB i have a MB w. a glossy screen and a MBP w/ matte screen. They both have good viewing angles. I have some trouble w/ the glossy on the macbook and it has to be just right but that is even exaggerating it a bit. there is no real big problem...

Maybe I'm just really picky too. I have to say that when I saw the glossy MBP I felt the display was a little better, but it's very hard to evaluate at the Apple Store with all its bright lights.

checked it again and yeh its fine as i said only time you say any change in colour or contrast is when you put you head down bellow the isight which is somthing you will likly niver do.

The viewable angle is fine on the MacBooks, but there is a clear reduction in brightness when you're off-center. Yes, you can still see/read the screen, but it's obvious that you're not head-on. As far as being usable in typical positions, it's great. But it's not one of those 170º viewing angle screens.

now let me just hope my MB don't have any os those issues reported over and over again, cos mine is comming from US to Brazil

did u search all the posts here about MB's screen? from ur first post, I can tell u are very picky, u better post ur dell's screen and compare to MB/MBP's here.

I for one, and many other users, have found the MB/MBP's LCD is pretty cheap and not high quality.

I can't compare to the dell cos i don't have it anymore
my dad had i't borow from work, cos he was going to travel for a meeting, so i had it for just like 10 min.

i'm beeing picky cos i'm a photographer, and i need good screen to work on...

oh, lol, Im not sure, maybe u should get a iMac or mac pro with professional screen, if color is very important to you.

there are quite a few pics of the screens. such as

dont get me wrong, Im sure there are many, maybe majority good screen out there, Its just they don't have good quality control, at least looks like.

are those macbook or MBP screens?

i realy wish i could get a Imac, but i need portability, so i'll go with the MB...
at home i'll use it pluged on a external monitor (crt frist, an LCD latter)
that's why i'm not very concerned about this, just a bit...hehe

1,2,4 are MBPs
3 is MB

well, then u probably will be ok with MB.
