Macbook - Volume header needs repair?

I carried out a disk verification yesterday and received a red warning error saying that Volume header needs repair. Screenshot below:

However the option to repair disk is greyed out. So what should I do? Is this symptomatic of a soon to fail hard disk? Or is it something simpler that can be fixed myself (and I am inexplicably missing)?

Nothing to worry about.
You need to pop your startup CD in the drive and reboot.
Run the disk utility from the CD and it won't be greyed out.

You can't repair the headers on the hard disk if its currently active.

With regards to your question about your hard disk dying. Its probably not dying. However, its always important to have a good backup of your hard disk - so if you don't have one, i suggest you get on it!

I learnt the hard way - my macbook hard disk went pop in less than 6 months of having it. The disk was replaced by apple within 30 mins - but that didn't bring back the data!
