Wouldn't you like to know?
So here's the deal. I just want a computer that does what a computer does. Play music, browse the webbernetz, and some word processing and powerpoints. I'm either going to get a Macbook or a MacBook Air. I don't care at all about storage, and the only heavy app i'd ever run is probably Photoshop.

I saw the 11-inch Air in Best Buy and instantly fell in love. it's small and portable, very light, and is perfect for me.

Now I would just go ahead and buy that but the Macbook is the same price and is 13" and a bigger drive.

Which do I go for? The one that's crappier but sexier, or the one that's uglier but better?

The MBA would be my suggestion. You get much better quality screen than the MB. Since you said you don't care about storage, the fact that the MB has more storage shouldn't be a problem. The MBA is a lot lighter and easier to carry around. As a previous owner of the polycarbonate (white) MB, I can tell you that it was a bit heavy to lug around.

Go with the MacBook Air.

Also, wait a few weeks for the MacBook Air refresh to come around if you can. It'll have a thunderbolt port on it and will likely have Lion pre-installed.

I'd wait a month for the refresh if you can. Otherwise, get a MBA if you can handle the screen size and storage limitations (I use external drives to soften that blow for me... Which is why I'm waiting for thunderbolt to be on the Air)!

Yeah I do have a 1TB drive that I "borrowed" from a neighbor that I can use if needed.

In a coffee shop.
Get the Air (it's a great machine) but unless your need is urgent, I'd suggest holding off for a few weeks in case the rumoured "refresh" occurs.

Cheers and good luck

I would say air. Airs appear to be a more sophisticated machine to me, so for similar prices, I would choose an Air.

But for now, I would say if you can, wait for bit as the refresh ones may hit the shelf anytime from now.
