I'm traveling and I have my MacBook in the same room as me when I'm asleep. The MacBook is closed and presumably also asleep.

Several times per night, it has been waking up and blasts the fan loud enough that it wakes me up.

The last time it did this, I woke up, opened the Mac, and checked Activity Monitor. "secd" was going nuts, using 100% of my CPU and causing all the fan noise.

I've looked up "secd" and it seems to be a frequent CPU glutton. But the oft-cited solution for this is to turn off iCloud Keychain. I checked and I don't have iCloud Keychain turned on, so I don't know what else I'm supposed to do to solve this problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

When was the last time you restarted the MacBook? And what are the Energy Saver settings?

26 days since last restart.

Power settings are that "wake for network access" is enabled, as is Power Nap.

Which is fine... I'm not upset that the computer is waking up... I'm upset that secd apparently malfunctions and blasts the fan loud enough to wake ME up...
