Hey!
I have some nail polish remover here, which does contain Acetone, but I only want to use it on the trackpad "button". Is this safe?
no. it will melt the plastic. use something without acetone.
I think some guy a while back used non-acetone remover on his macbook, which took off the top layer/finish. I would not recommend using any type of nail polish remover - you don't want to risk it. Apple just recommends water, but that might not be enough. Do you just want to remove the general dirt/grubbiness of the white computer?
Ye, just the dirt that has accumalated on the trackpad.
What about the magic eraser?
Um. MacBook Pro ≠ MacBook (white)Yes, use this. I use the iKlear and its great for cleaning my MacBook Pro.

Seriously.
I just had my white MB case swapped and received it back this Wednesday, August 29th. As of this afternoon on Friday, August 31st? The case is already showing signs of staining. Again.
And yes, I've used both iKlear and the Magic Eraser.
It's nothing like the iBook of yesteryear. And yes, I had a 12" 1.33Ghz iBook G4 for about 1.5 years without any freaking staining. So no, I'm not some dirty person. Hmph. These MBs just really have some sort of different plastic.(And I also had a 12" 1.33Ghz PowerBook G4 so I feel it's fair of me to say that none of the three casings are truly alike.)
My point is, god forbid we should believe every word of a given product's marketing, right? If you read the product description...
"MacBook or MacBook Pro: Outer case, keyboard and display screen"

My point is; I've used iKlear and Magic Eraser on my white MB, my iBook, and my PB-- have you? iKlear worked on the iBook and PB, but not for the white MB's wrist rests.
Methinks you're missing my point.I also used it on my iBook G4 and it worked great, satisfied?
That's interesting.Um. MacBook Pro ≠ MacBook (white)
