Hay, has anyone got any graphs on the performance of the macbook?

How does the macbook 1.8 core duo compare to the 2gig core 2 duo?

Or even 1.8 core 2 duo?

Is there much of a difference? Would you chose core 2 duo over core duo?

I was looking at the mac mini's comparing solo 1.5 to duo 1.8 and from the 1.8 duo to the 2gig core 2 duo there doesnt seem to be much of a difference.

Basically what im asking is; is there much point spending an extra 100 quid or so on a core 2 duo?

Cheers.

Yes, it's worth it.

There are quite a lot of benchmarks comparing the two processors (just do a google search) and the C2D is noticeably faster. Also, unless I'm mistaken the CD MBs have a 2MB level 2 cache, the C2D ones (excluding the 1.83GHz model) have a 4MB cache, which again makes them faster.

Core Duo 1.8 to Core 2 Duo 2.0: 1/9 faster in Hz but 64-bit CPU with some other things improved so probably more different than that, 20% in general maybe?

1.8 Core 2 Duo to 2.0 Core 2 Duo: 1/9 difference.

Choose Core 2 Duo over Core Duo? Definitly, mostly for 64bit instructions. More efficient power saving and faster aswell.

1.5 solo to 1.8 duo will be more than 100% difference, so that's a huge one.

1.8 to 2.0 rather unintresting.

100 quid to 2.0 core 2 duo from what? 1.5 core single? Are both new machines? I guess I'd opt for the core 2 duo. From a 1.8 core duo system? Not worth it.
