MacBook will arrive; I will be on trip

I have a MacBook coming in on Friday and I am leaving immediately after for a long term trip overseas (I am taking my PowerBook G4 instead to do work).

What should I do about the battery? Obviously, I won't be here to turn it on for about 2 months.

I plan on running it down as much as I can, shut down the MacBook, and remove the battery from the unit itself while I am gone.

why won't you take both notebooks???? Oh and if you want so i'll turn it on if you live in my neigbourhood, which i don't think you do

Apple recommends that you remove the battery if you won't be using the computer for more than about 4 weeks. The battery shouldn't be affected. DON'T leave the computer plugged in while you're gone.

I believe you should charge it to 30%, and remove it, and then leave it somewhere clean and dry - but not hot.

Also, unplug your computer so there's no accidental explosions .
