MacBook with external monitor at 24hz lags every few minutes

Hello all, when I connect my MacBook 13 M1 to my LG C9 while setting my laptop to 24hz output my laptop lags every few minutes which makes whichever movie I’m playing on VLC skip which is severely impacting

It also impacts cursor movement

Anyone else have this experience running 24hz?
