Hello, I have a problem with my iPhone 3G. It suddenly stopped being recognized by my Mac. I have tried the following:

1) reinstall iTunes completely along with Applemobiledevice

2) resetting and shutting down the Macbook and the iPhone

3) connecting the iPhone to Windows in VMWare

It doesn't even show up in the System profiler which means that the problem is probably at the USB level. But the problem is that my flashdisc works in both USB ports. The iPhone works in my friend's Windows PC. The Mac and iPhone is fully charged. I have tried also DiskAid but it doesn't recognize the iPhone neither.

Any suggestions what might be the problem ?

It is normally a problem with the USB port or the USB cable. Even when they work fine with every other device, the iPhone can have a problem.

Try:
- using a different cable
- connecting to a different port
- connecting to a different Mac
- connecting to a Windows PC
in order to track it down.

I've tried different cable and it didn't help (but charging via adapter works).
I've tried to connect iPhone to my friend's Windows PC (without iTunes) and it recognized the device as iPhone.
I think it's my Mac's fault.
