My friend brought me her MacBook saying that it wouldn't start. I thought it would be a simple fix, reset the PRAM or something..but I've done it all...

I've unplugged/replugged, removed the battery, all of the above combinations.

I've reset the PRAM, reset the Power Manager, removed and re-set the memory (which is all factory RAM).

Nothing. No noise. No attempt to start. Nothing.

Any ideas?

Ouch. Was anything spilled on it or anything?

Sorry to say but I don't have an obvious solution for you. Perhaps someone else on the forum does, but if I were you I would call apple and see what they say. Good luck, I hope it isn't too serious.

Maybe something got spilled on the keyboard? That whole top case has a little plug in the middle of the computer that plugs into the logic board. Maybe that's come loose or something. There are a number of possibilities.

I can't confirm the backstory...

she says that she went to sleep the other night and turned it off (I don't know if this means Off or Sleep).

When she woke up it wouldn't turn on. She said it wasn't plugged in overnight, so she charged the battery to see if that was it. (I was concerned about some kind of power surge, but that's ruled out if it was unplugged while not in use.)

She only brought it to me because she's at 92 days on her warranty and can't afford the extended warranty right now. She'll pay up and get the extended so she can get support if I can't fix it. There's no Apple store nearby (Charlotte is 3 hours), so there's no way to diagnose over the phone.
