Hey all,

I love using a mac and time has dfinately come to upgrade to intel laptop.

I however have an extremely restricted budget & am wondering how much to "splurge" for how much better performance and features i will get.

So somewhere between middle range macbook to middle range macbook pro.

Give your advice,

thanks -doobi18:) :) :)

in my experience with apple refurb, the quality has been identical to the new retail version but at a much better price

the only thing that is lacking is a fancy box, everything from apple refurb is shipped in a plain brown box

I don't mean any disrespect, but when you say "extremely restricted," you obviously do not mean extremely restricted. You can't beat the value of the base MacBook, in my opinion, especially when on a budget.

I went with the cheapest MBP (2.16ghz) Had it about 3 weeks now and love it. The only thing I changed was to glossy screen. I will upgrade memlater as for now 1 gig is just fine.

Loaded Windows XP on it and it runs just as good as on a PC laptop IMO. The C2D models are fast. Crying out loud my laptop is my most powerful processor.
