- Are the fans always on on the Macbook Pro (any Butterfly or later)? (Have Fanny monitoring app, says minimum around 2k rpm always.

2. Is there a ways to disable fans and thus force the CPU to throttle?

Yes, the fans on the 15” are always running, and no, you can’t turn them off.

If you want a silent portable Mac get the M1 MBA. I doubt the new Apple Silicon 16" MBP will be fanless

What would be your purpose to disable to fans? If you did, they temps would creep up causing them to spin even faster with additional noise added.

CPU is basically 0% when writing a document, I don't see the point of wasting battery 💁🏼‍♀️

perhaps it just happens that liquid gets into the keyboard.
in this case, the coolers work at full capacity, but at the same time there is no overheating on the chips and there is no close.
1) disconnect the battery
2) disconnect the keyboard flex from logic boar.
3) connect the battery
5) turn on Mac, if without a keyboard, the fans work in the usual way - replacing the keyboard.

I don't think the Intel MacBooks can have the fans disabled. I'm using the 16inch MBP 2021 and most of the time it's disabled. 0rpm.until i do a full load and the temp is 90C then it'll turn it on , on the lowest fan speed
