Alright, Guys. I think I need you on this one.
I just bought a MBP Second Hand from a dealer, who promised 90 Days Warranty.
After a month of using this, mainly for music production. {Spec, See Attachment (2014 with Nvidia Graphics Card)}
The right USB port acted funny, my controllers couldn't be connected.

I tried other controllers and USB cable. With my old MBP, it worked fine.
So I decide to connect my external drives to the same port, it's lit but not connected.
I try various size, drivers ranged from 8 Gb to 2 Tb, didn't appear on the desktop.
The next day both of my ports stop working so I decided to do SMC and nvram reset.
The left port came back to life. but the Right port still is in dysfunction. So I reinstall the Mojave Os without wiping the data.
Now, nothing changes.

So I called the dude who sold this and right up the next day another guy came to pick it up.
Return it on the same day in the evening, showing with his SSD external that appears on my desktop that it is solved and reconnect.
I then, went straight back to my room, only just to find out, the same problem persist.

Immediately, I called the Repair guy.
He suggest it's a software problem, that I should delete re-install and try other Os version
So, I did try out, delete the whole thing, reinstall it with both Mojave, High Sierra and the same problem persists.
The right USB port doesn't sent data, or to say very slow that a normal hard drives or controller wouldn't make it.

Now I called back to the dude. He insist that it is a SOFTWARE problem. He claimed that he checked the USB port, it still transmit 5v.
He said he would have to do some research then disappears for three days. Once I contacted him, basically, he is out of clue where the problems lies, in which he still keep going on with the SOFTWARE bug.

Then, the guy who sold this to me suddenly avoids my call.

What do you guys think ? Is it a software or hardware ? Or any suggestion to this USB problem ?

Right now, I'm drafting everything what I've got to get them to warrant my product or re-solved this issue.

But still will be very appreciated for any advice and suggestion if it will have to come down to me fixing it myself.

Ps. All of the information about the USB Port and Mac details is attached.

Hello Audit13
Yes, I've tried the belkin hub that's plugged in with the 5v adapter for extra power, no signal.

The Mouse on port did work. the cursor moves and can be clicked.

the internal disagnostics came out with no issues found with Reference code ADP000

Suddenly, out of nowhere, the port seem to work. This happens after one of many erase, reinstall, switching from Mojave to High Sierra. Now I try to use it as much as I can to see wether it will go out again. very odd.

This is very odd. It sounds to me like there is something wrong with the USB bus rather than the port.

I assume the port is flaky at times even with the Magsafe attached.

I've been having similar problems the last few weeks. Mid-2014 13" MBP as well. For the past 3-4 years I've been using a powered USB 3.0 Hub to plug in a hard drive and my USB keyboard and other devices.

Recently however my Mac seems to stop recognizing any devices plugged into the hub.
I can confirm it is not the USB devices because they work fine when plugged directly into one my my Mac's USB ports.
I can also confirm is it not the hub as I tried another 3.0 hub and a USB 2.0 hub and the problem still persists.

It also seems the problem is most noticeable after my computer goes to sleep. For example, I'll be doing some work the night before, put my computer to sleep, wake up the next day and try to tap keys on my keyboard to wake up my computer (I run in clamshell mode with external monitors) but the keyboard is not recognized.

So far, the only way to get the USB Hub / devices connected to it to work again is by rebooting my computer (occasionally an SMC reset too).

Some other weird behavior I've also noticed is that one of my USB devices has some LEDs that run in a pattern. When this device is connected only the the powered USB Hub (without the hub going to the Mac), the LED sequence runs fine. However, the moment the USB Hub is connected to my Mac it seems my USB device is losing connection every few seconds because the LED sequence resets.

Another weird behavior I've noticed is that I have a hard drive plugged into the USB Hub that is used for time machine backups. This device never seems to lose connection to my Mac, even when the other USB devices connected via the hub do.

Overall, I don't remember having these issues before 4-5 months ago but recently it seems to be more common. I've tried to narrow down what he problem could be and so far I think it's something with my Mac. I've done just about everything from plugging every device in every possible configuration and port. Right now I'm plugging my keyboard and mouse directly into the USB ports on the Mac and don't seem to have issues but I do need more USB ports via the hub.

So your usb port started working again when you changed to high sierra? How many times have you had to reinstall it?
