Hi there,

my old MBP 17" 2011 does not charge anymore. The power adapter is not being recognized - there is no LED on the magsafe 1 plug.I already replaced power adapter, battery and magsafe board. Still no power from the charger. The laptop works fine with a charged battery. Any ideas for that ?
thanx in advance

You say laptop work w/ charged battery. How are you charging the battery? Try reset SMC and calibrate battery?

What is the history? Any liquid damage or just died one day? Start with checking the fuse that is in series between the magsafe adapter and the main logic board. With the power adapter connected, carefully measure the voltage to ground on the fuse @ F6905 (will be white in color; 2 leads). If not comfortable, remove all power / disconnect the battery.

Meter in resistance mode. Measure the resistance across this same fuse. If the meter reads 'OL' = over limit / open, this fuse is blown and needs to be replaced. Otherwise the meter should show a very low resistance = fuse is in tact and not blown so should conduct.
