Hi! I've recently update my MacBook Pro to El Capitan 10.11.5. Since I have installed it I've seen many problems:

1) Facebook Alerts of new messages do not show any of its content, they just say "New Message" whilst all the other notifications do show their content.

2) When I first turned on my computer, the wallpaper was the original that came by default (and I had changed it)

3) Lastly, when I want to start the computer it's really slow (in comparison of the others software updates) and this is what bothers me the most.

Also I don't know if this is important, but I encrypted my MacBook Pro and I'm not sure if that could be causing these problems.

Try temporarily uninstalling Sophos.

You have some stuff I am unfamiliar with, like CrowdStrike and NinetySixProblems. They might potentially be incompatible with El Capitan.

Also, go into the Startup Disk prefs and make sure Macintosh HD is selected.

Hi, I uninstalled Sophos and it seems to be the same, just a little bit faster but definitely slower than what it used to be. I'm also not sure about CrowdStrike and NinetySixProblems (I am not a tech guy so I don't know a lot about this stuff). The startup disk is ok. Thanks.

Those two things are not apps so I don't know where should I find them to uninstall them. I'll also download that program.

Crowdstrike seems to have something to do with some security software called "Falcon". Is yours a work computer? Might your office have installed this?

NinetySixProblems seems to have something to do with software called Lookup that warns to you to look up from your screen periodically.

Yes it's my computer, and I probably installed that Falcon app a long time ago (that's why I don't remember it). And I also bought that Lookup app. Are those two things causing trouble?

I don't know. I think Falcon is more likely that Lookup to be causing the problem, particularly if you installed it some time ago and it may not be up to date.

You can uninstall it by copying and pasting the following line into a terminal window and hitting return:

sudo sh /Library/CS/uninstall.sh

By the way, have you checked your hard drive's integrity lately? Boot into the Recovery partition by booting while holding down command-r, then go to disk utility. Highlight "Macintosh HD" in the left window and choose Repair Disk.

I've done what you've said but I can't find the "repair disk" option for Macintosh HD

Sorry, in El Capitan, it is now called First Aid. Click on Macintosh HD and then on First Aid.

It doesn't let me click the first aid button for Macintosh HD, it only works for the Apple SSD SM0128GB media.

That's strange. Are you booting in recovery mode (booting while holding down command-r) when you try this? What happens? Is First Aid greyed out, or do you get an error message?

It did work in regular mode and it says that everything is ok. But the computer is still starting slow and the notifications aren't showing properly.

Okay. Check the Startup Disk preferences pane to make sure Macintosh HD is selected. Also uninstall crowd strike.

Then reboot and if things are still slow, generate a new Etrecheck report.

When I start the computer, I see that the bar on the homepage charges normally, but about halfway through the bar becomes really slow. I don't know if this is normal for the new OS but I'm still attaching the EtreCheck report just in case.

How long does it take to boot up to the log in panel?

You have some other strange things running as well, which may or may not be causing problems.

For instance, you have TomCat Controller. Are you running an Apache Web Server? If not, you can scrap TomCat controller.

Also, I would get rid of the MemoryClean Helper and FanControl.
