MacBookPro won't spit out CD

Help! The title says it all: the laptop tries to eject a CD but it remains stuck and the system just remounts it. Pretty crummy. Any ideas? Any ways of just forcing it out, like in the good, old days?

Reboot and hold down the mouse button/trackpad click button as soon as the screen goes black (before the grey screen with the Apple logo). Keep it pressed until OSX starts booting. The CD should be ejected sometime on the grey screen.

It sounds like there is some physical reason the CD won't eject though and that can't really be fixed via this meathod. Have you dropped your MBP? Does the drive line up with the slot?

I had this problem.

I had this problem to the point where the cpu wouldn't start because it wouuld try to boot from the stuck CD.

I checked Apple Support Forums, and found a credit card trick, I was cautious, but it worked.

Check the Apple Suppoert Forum, search the problem, and a thread should pop up explaining the CC trick.

I had this problem with my Macbook at first. It'd make all the whirring noises, take the CD icon off the desktop, but then fail to actually spit out the CD and end up just reloading the CD.

However, for some reason, it just suddenly stopped having that problem. I've ripped 200+ CD's since then, and not once has it happened again! So maybe just stick with it for a couple of days and see if it sorts itself out?!

Thanks, guys. Strangely enough it did spit out the CD once I'd let the MBP cool off. I've noticed that the drive doesn't like all CDs anyway, even official, commercially made ones. I've had it refuse to read quite a number of them and then just spit them out. Anyone have experience with this or do I just have a touchy drive?
