Just curious, to new owners of WHITE MBs. Do you notice that they come with fine scratches on the case (top and bottom)? My 2004 iBook G4 also came with fine scratches and as the years went on it gained even more scratches.

Just wondering who else noticed this?

yes, but this is not rare, as styrafoam isn't very forgiving oddly enough. try to ignore it, or see if you can find a filler if you really want. :D

I didn't see any scratches when mine came out of the box, but then again, I wasn't closely scrutinizing it for fine scratches.

just by moving it in the light i can see fine scratches. i am anal  and i asked another kid who bought his MB at the same time as me to inspect it, so he opened his box up and looked his over and it had the same fine scratches on it as mine.

I'm not talking TONS of scratches just a few hairline scratches. and as the more i use it the more scratches i see on the outer case. no biggie but they just scuff/scratch too easily i guess.

Didn't notice any scratches when I got my MacBook, but it does have a few now that can be seen in the right light.

Seeing as they scratch seemingly by the passing of thin air, I'd say it was likely they'll pick up a few scratches in the production and export process. To be honest, Apple should conduct some research into building notebooks that are scratch resistant, have hard-wearing and 'non-shining' trackpads and are built of plastics that somehow repell grease rather than absorb it like a slice of white bread in a bowl of soup.

Still here.
i am anal
That stinks.

Seriously though, unless your extremely picky and using a magnifying glass, I don't think you will notice any extravagant markings.

I doubt this has anything to do with Apple's packaging, any laptop with a fine surface like the MB's from any company in nearly any packaging would likely arrive in the same condition.

Instead of looking for imperfections why not use the computer? If you spend all your time looking at scratches you might not notice any performance issues also known as REAL problems :D
