Regarding the graphics cards in Macbooks -

I know in Mac OS X it only shares 64mb. But ive heard windows gives it 256mb. Obviously this doesnt really mean that much but what sort of other graphics card is this comparable with?

Whats the intel GMA 950 like in comparison with, say, a GeForce GPU?

I haev a 256mb GeForce 6200 which is pretty decent. How would the Intel GMA 950 (with 256mb shared in windows through bootcamp) compare up to this?

Cheers.

windows can allocate up to 224MB only, and gma 950 is somewhere between a 5200 and a 6200.

between 5200 and 6200 sounds like a pretty decent card to me.

i've just looked up the specification and it says it supports a maximum of 224mb so i'm guessing by default windows just gives it as much as it can take staticly. also it supports pixel shaders n things.

coming from someone who just gave up his MX440 very recently for a 6200, this card sounds pretty good lol - dont see why alot of people complain about it being one of the macbooks weak points.

I only consider it a weak point because it take away from the system RAM. The power of it is fine, hell, I'd be good with any graphics card as long as it supports Open GL.

It's between Geforce FX5200 64-bit memory and 128-bit memory. Yes, its closer to 128-bit memory version, but nowhere near 6200.

224MB allocation is only possible if you have at least 1GB of RAM.

224MB is also dynamic, meaning it doesn't use 224MB unless it really needs the 224MB. Considering the settings people will run their games on GMA950, 224MB will be never used.
