Hi all,
I've just returned from visiting a friend of mine who purchased a macbook about a week before I got mine. While visiting, I hopped onto her macbook at one point, and it seemed to me that her keyboard felt much more responsive than mine -- whereas mine feels rather "mushy," there seemed to be a good deal of "bounce-back" on hers. Unfortunately, I didn't have mine there to do a direct comparison, so this might all be in my head...
I don't mean to complain or anything, nor do would I really try to go about doing anything about it if there were a real difference between her keyboard and mine--I love my macbook. I'm just putting this question out there to ease my mind regarding whether or not this 'keyboard envy' is justified or if it's just my mind playing tricks on me:
Has anyone had the experience that the keyboards on different macbooks can have different feels to them?

Thanks!

I dunno, but I like mine, I haven't tried any other ones extensively.

As compared with the keyboard on my old powerbook, it does feel much more "clicky"; the keys bounce back more quickly.

When I first started looking at the Macbook, I thought the keyboard would be less comfortable than the powerbook - but I ended up liking it more.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone; I wonder if I wasn't specific enough with my first question, though. I'm not so much wondering about the quality of macbook keyboards, generally--I own a macbook of my own--but am wondering about possible differences in quality *between* macbook keyboards -- specifically, has anyone noticed a difference in feel (e.g., "mushy" vs. relatively "firm bounce-back") between one and another macbook?
Those who have visited an Apple store and been able to play with a number of macbooks side by side might be best suited to answer this question, (or those who have a number of macbooks in their family, or those who are lucky enough to own more than one macbook (or *unlucky* enough to *have already gone through* more than one macbook;) )).
Like I said in my first post, my keyboard is alright but, *unless my mind is fooling me* (which is might), it seemed to me that my friends was noticeably nicer, with a more solid feel than my own. Might my experience actually be true, or is this just a case of the grass being greener?:D
Thanks again everyone, though, for taking the time to answer, and for your insight.

I'll be getting my MacBook tomorrow, so I'll post what I think of it then.

Is your friends macbook newer? Maybe your macbook has been 'broke in' so to speak and so your keys aren't as responsive as they were when they were brand new. Just a thought.

That's one of the funny things here -- her macbook is actually about a week or two older than mine! So no only is any difference (if there *is* a difference!) probably not due to differences in use, I also doubt that there could have been any significant changes to the keyboards!

Quite the puzzle, here... :p

I like it myself, but when using a PB or MBP keyboard, I can feel the superior action. I'm not hindered by the MB KB, but I wouldn't hate it if they reverted back.
