http://www.barefeats.com/mbcd8.htmlInteresting set of benches, I noticed the Doom3 and Quake 4 scores were unchanged. The integrated graphics GMA950 is saturated it would appear, unable to do anything more then what the old Core Duo was pushing. The other benches show increase in cpu related tasks. Integrated graphics are really holding this machine & Mini down, or is trying to get people to go for real graphics in higher priced Macs. Its a shame there isnt a $50 option. Benches tell the story.

THANKYOU, Someone has to do the job. If Apple is doing something wrong I dont mind pointing it out. Not having a gpu is WRONG!:)

you ever heard of marketing or trying to make people buy expensive products by crippling consumer level ones?
anyway, I agree that a GPU in the MacBook would be nice, but then apple would have to cripple MB processors. Now, would most people buying consumer apple products rather run doom fast or run word and safari smoothly?;)

And now you are complaining about him complaining.

(and someone else is going to mention that i'm complaining about you complaining that he is complaining. This is not true, i'm only pointing out the fact, not complaining about it)

Dont Hurt Me's sarcasm detector is broken this morning.

I'm not praising you man. We get it. Your endless bitching here isn't going to change it. Send a letter to Apple and then stop annoying us.

EDIT: TBi, it's like a RECURSIVE CHAIN OF COMPLAINING THAT NEVER ENDS! NOOOOOO~

They're not doing anything wrong. They're supplying a computer that's close in performance to their top of the line model (for CPU tasks) for a third the price. The catch being less graphics power.

For people who use their machine for music, communication, word processing, 2D graphic work etc etc that's not a bad trade off.

What would be nice though is a more graphically-capable machine that's of the same size as the MB.

Yes, updated Graphics would have been nice, but....

I didn't want to pay ~$600 more to play games.

Most of my graphics work will be in PS.

I wanted something a bit easier to carry.

So... Yeah, the graphics could be better, but I'll have to live with it.

I can't believe he thought you were being nice. I thought your response was quite nasty even...

Remember, a dedicated GPU with its own memory drives up power consumption and heat and decreases battery life. You don't just magically get faster graphics for free.
