Yesterday (6/20/06), only the black macbooks were available as refurbs. Today, all three models were available.

White/1.83/Combo/60GB
Regularly $1099
Refurbished $949

White/2.00/Super/60GB
Regularly $1299
Refurbished $1099

Black/2.00/Super/80GB
Regularly $1499
Refurbished $1299

Still no sign of the 17" MacBook Pro's in the refurbished store.

So now they are charging less for the MacBook in the referb store then the old Powerbook G4 12'?!? That does not seem right.

I agree i think that they need to lower there prices

I REALLY want a BlackBook, but just aint as pretty/portable as my 12' Powerbook. Does apple realize they are screwing themseleves not having a portable notebook in aluminum?

I can sell my Powerbook for what I paid for it and drop 300 bucks for a new black book but it's just not as pretty. boooooo, what to do!

really, what sucker do you know?

I think it's just as nice looking, actually. it's also got 30% more pixels and a much brighter screen; given that I mostly look at the screen and not the casing, that weighs pretty heavily in my book.

Does anyone know of any issues that I might have if I buy a refurb 1.83 MBP and it has some of the common issues? I really don't want to buy AppleCare.

And does anyone know what "spec" is for cosmetic damage on refurbs?

I got my Powerbook from Amazon warehouse_deals for $960 referb. Checking ebay 12' Powerbooks are selling for $800-$1000. If I could sell it for what I got it for and add the $300 for a BlackBook. (hopefully, I don't know why anyone would pay over $1000 for one now, but check! ... they are!)

Where is the 13' SilverBook? Isn't the 12' Powerbook Apple's best selling computer ever? If the 13' MacBook came in silver, I would have bought one already!!!

I have to agree.

A thirteen foot laptop would be pretty ludicrous.

I already know I need to watch both my grammer and puncuation on this board! You people are more anal than me!!! (oh no, 'more anal', shouldn't that be anally?) Your guys really like to beat people up on here, lol! You are correct, if your going to post, be grammatically correct.

Anyways.... why are these people spending $1000 on a 12'' Powerbook?

I'm dealing with the same issue. Got a 12" PB that's loaded with everything I need... But for some reason the idea of an isight camera and the intel chip makes me salavate... I'm going to buy one soon. Going back to school in Fall '07, so not sure if I'll buy now or wait until before Fall 07... Any thoughts?

$1099 for a high end white model? That's insane! But I have to agree, the 12" PowerBook should be cheaper. Especially since the MacBook is a better offer unless you need the connections and ports that the PB comes with.

Black Macbooks are gone. I was looking at them, refreshed the page, and they were gone.

Any insight on the 1.87 MBP and screen/erratic noise issues? That's my next choice but I don't want to buy a computer that's already obsolete and full of problems. I like the MB, but I sit with my back to a huge window, and the glossy screen would bug me. I get paid today, so I'll know what I can spend later on today. Now I just need to get rid of this 1.67 15" PB.

All models are now gone. But they will be back soon enough; there are quite enough problematic macbooks out there to keep them well stocked. ;)

We've yet to see any refurb MBPs let alone refurb MacBooks in the UK.

Guess the US lot are hogging them all ;)
