Hello everyone!

I'm new here...my first post. Just to let everyone know off the bat that I'm not very tech savvy with well...technology.

However, I would love to know, from what you guys think, when the new Santa Rosa chip (or whatever the next chip is) will make its way into the next generation MacBooks (not Pro)? I was hoping before September of 2007. lol

Cheers-
Mark :)

Did you miss the front page of MacRumors?

How it is phased into the MacBook, MacBook Pro, and iMac will all depend on the supply Apple gets from Intel -- and how quickly their 3rd party factories can make the switch.

Since Apple will need 1-2 million units a quarter for all the machines, they ain't a small pill to swallow nor will Apple be happy with 10k-100k units per month during Intel's ramp up phase.

At a guess, we will likely see them show up in PC notebooks 4-8 weeks before Apple starts phasing them into the Mac lines.

From there it is a guess how the phase in will happen -- likely the MacBook Pro first.
