So, why do I need a Santa Rosa chipset MacBook Pro. Why do I even need a Mac Pro.

For that matter why do I need my current MacBook Pro CD2 2.33GHz? Because it's so cool? No. Do I need or want this much power? I've opened handbrake, cloned my drive with Carbon Copy Cloner, played wow, had Firefox and Safari open, iChat and Mail, iDVD (Creating a project and burning two DL DVD copies of Battlestar Galactica Season 1 in H.264 format. (Why isn't mail iMail?) Still, I maxed out 1.2 GB of RAM and 67% of my cores. Hovering at a lovely 59C... So, what would max out my 2 GB RAM and all 2.33 GHz of my processors at 100% aside from opening a terminal window and typing /nul dev?

Nothing I can throw at it. Logic Pro. Nope. Final Cut Studio II with all applications open and doing something? Nope... So why on earth do I have all this power? BECAUSE IT'S SO DAMN COOL!

That and it further proves that for 1999.99 and tax with some shipping and a thermal repair... I have a laptop that blows the sox and or other proverbial dress off any PC I have ever seen, period.

Well done Apple.

Half-Rant, Half-Praised, Leaving me Half-Confused

It's not a rant. Look up my other posts about colour iPods, that is a rant. Basicly I can't max out my laptop. The point being currently I can't overtax it with all of my applications running simultaneously.

Yea, but your machine is sexy. It's a Super Model. It's like mixing a runway model with a very fast car and setting it in front of you. There are no other desktops I can think of that even come close... Well, except for the Quad G5 with twin 30" Displays, but I mean come on... No one in their right mind would get a G5 with that much power... Oh wait, how many cores do the Xeon's have now? :D
