Hi,
I have set up Time Machine with an external hard drive on my Mac, and I have decided to delete it soon afterwards.
I managed to delete all the snapshots using the Terminal, but still I see a Mackintosh HD snapshot.
Is this used to load the operating system, or is this still a leftover from Time Machine?
Thank you :)

To be precise; that screenshot shows the locked SSV volume selected, and it's not a snapshot. The system volume doesn't do snapshots.

The "data" volume is a regular, writable volume that contains everything else on the disk, and TM can create snapshots on it that might take up disk space. Select it, and select to "show APFS-snapshots" in the diskutilities menu, and you can view and, if you want, erase snapshots to free up disk space.

The read-only system volume uses a snapshot to assist automatic recovery from a failed future upgrade. What you are seeing is normal. Don't try to delete it - I don't think you can.
