Hi all,
I'm at my wits end with MacMail! It crashes on me constantly. And not just on my home computer, but my work one as well.
Back story: At home I'm on a mid-2010 MacBook Pro running High Sierra. My work computer is a 2007 iMac running El Capitan. As the headline states, I've tried everything. Resetting the PRAM, deleting the entire Mail Data folder as well as deleting the three Envelope Index files only.
At first, I thought it might have been because I updated to High Sierra, but my work computer can only update to El Capitan and it happens on that one, too.
A couple similarities in both cases: Recently, I swapped out the HHD drives with SSD in both computers and the problem has gotten really bad since then. And I notice that Mail seems to always crash after I wake the computer up from sleep and Mail is still open, but not if I wake the computer first and then open Mail. And it seems to always happen when I attempt to do anything in my iCloud mail, not when I'm accessing accounts from other servers.
So to repeat, the problem most always happens when 1) I haven't closed Mail and computer went to sleep 2) I attempt to write or read mails after waking up the computer in my iCloud account, and 3) it got really bad after installing SSD dives.
There may have been exceptions, but generally that's the case. I was also wondering if having too many Mail folders (V3, V4, V5) after updating Mac Os might be a problem, but I don't want to delete any folder unnecessarily.
Can anyone out there help please? I'm happy to clarify with any extra details.
Thank you all so much!!
