Mine was placed on January 17th with the same 1GB Free ram - after such a long wait I called and they then upgraded my shipping to 2day FedEx.
I also purchased AppleCare and it has already shipped and is nin my hands now.
I ordered last week and was told I would be in the next shipment of march 3rd books. I have next day shipping, I already have applecare, my free maccase and sleeve, and icurve.mustard said:

Strange they told you they were getting a shipment today- I ordered on Feb 16th (2.0 Ghz, 2 GIG memory) and when I called yesterday (after many unanswered emails to my sales rep) they told me they were gven a march 17th date from Apple!

that the date has been changed until the 17th as well. The rep said they are getting 10,000 of them and currently have 341 on back order. Some did come in last week but it was only a few.
When I ordered I was origially told the 3rd as well.

I have been calling once a day this week and on monday they said it would ship this week but calling back on tuesday, wednesday, & thursday they said that there order from apple was pushed back. I then called today and was told that they received some in and that mine would be shipping monday or tuesday being hesitant I called back and spoke to someone different and they reiterated the same monday/tuesday ship date.
Mine might be shipping monday or tuesday because I ordered in January not February

I just called again (third time today) and was once again told that mine would be shipping monday or tuesday yet again in the process of speaking with my new best friend "Tony" at macmall he informed me that they received 250 2.0Ghz machines today and that the are filling current back orders in the order they were placed and he also said that the next larger order they are set to receive is indeed March 17th

After looking back on what has happened with my experience with MacMall they always denied having received any other then their first batch of ten or so they got on 2.22.06. I have talked to more than a dozen people that have received there MacBoooks from MacMall so they have been shipping them in small quantities. Denial is there method - I guess to keep the masses happy. They run on a need to know basis I think or I had three different people all come up with the same story regarding my order (very mean trick if so).
YAY! for you, I was told today they have the shipment of computers and all back orders will be fulfilled this week.
